Wasting Light
Foo Fighters · 2011
Wasting Light is the Foo Fighters’ seventh studio album, recorded analog-to-tape in Dave Grohl’s Encino garage in 2011. Produced by Butch Vig, it marks Pat Smear’s full-time return after fourteen years and the band’s first five-piece record since 1997. Its sound is heavy, raw, and tightly performed—built on rehearsal discipline, analog limitation, and collective presence. It rejects digital convenience to affirm rock as physical, communal, and immediate.
