Interpol's debut was released in 2002 after recording at Tarquin Studios in Connecticut with Peter Katis. Gareth Jones assisted with mixing. Although closely associated with its New York moment, the songs were written before the September 11 attacks; later resonance should not be confused with their original subject matter.
