John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman

John Coltrane, Johnny Hartman · 1963

John Coltrane and Johnny Hartman was recorded in March 1963 and released that summer by Impulse! Bob Thiele brought the collaboration together. Hartman initially doubted their compatibility, but work on the repertoire with Coltrane and McCoy Tyner established a practical basis for the session.
