Sail Away is Randy Newman’s third studio album, released May 23, 1972, on Reprise Records, produced by Lenny Waronker and Russ Titelman. All songs were written by Newman, though several had been recorded earlier by others. The version of 'Last Night I Had a Dream' is a re-recording with a notably different arrangement. 'He Gives Us All His Love' first appeared in sparser, slower form for the 1971 film Cold Turkey. The album reached No. 163 on Billboard. The title track was later covered by Ray Charles and Linda Ronstadt.
