Shoot Out the Lights
Richard & Linda Thompson · 1982
Shoot Out the Lights is a folk-rock record defined by its making: quick, constrained, post-marital, pre-tour, pre-birth. Its sound is built from documented instruments and players — no speculation. Its weight comes from what was omitted or reduced, not what was added.
