Come On Over
Come On Over is a 1997 studio album by Shania Twain, co-written and produced entirely with Robert John 'Mutt' Lange. All sixteen tracks were recorded over three weeks at Masterfonics Tracking Room in Nashville. Drums for most songs were tracked in a stone-floored room with reflective rock-face walls; ballads were recorded in small 'dead booths'. Joe Chemay played electric and fretless bass. Biff Watson played acoustic and nylon-string guitar. Twain sang scratch vocals. Lange performed every song for session drummer Paul Leim before recording and discussed a 'real fun Motown feel' with engineer Jeff Balding. Twelve of the sixteen tracks were released as singles. Commercial momentum began after the lead singles 'Love Gets Me Every Time' and 'Don't Be Stupid (You Know I Love You)', then surged with the third single, 'You're Still the One'. In 1998, the album was remixed for the European market as a pop album with less country instrumentation.
