The Psychedelic Sounds of the 13th Floor Elevators

The 13th Floor Elevators · 1966

The 13th Floor Elevators' 1966 debut announces its psychedelic identity explicitly. It retains garage-rock and R&B foundations while introducing a particularly unusual instrumental presence. The record's strangeness is not a decorative layer added to an otherwise calm performance.
