Yankee Hotel Foxtrot

Yankee Hotel Foxtrot is Wilco’s fourth studio album, recorded at the Wilco Loft in Chicago between late 2000 and early 2001. It features a more atmospheric and experimental sound than prior releases, blending art rock and indie rock. It was the band’s first album with drummer Glenn Kotche and last with multi-instrumentalist Jay Bennett. Reprise Records rejected the album after completion and released Wilco from their contract, giving them the master tapes for free. Jim O'Rourke remixed key tracks and reshaped several songs—including 'Poor Places', which features only the Loose Fur trio—while crediting Bennett’s noise separately. The recording sessions were documented in the film I Am Trying to Break Your Heart.
